KUALA LUMPUR – Malaysia coach B. Sathianathan will head to England in March to study the training methods of Manchester United, FAM (Football Association of Malaysia) deputy president Khairy Jamaluddin has announced.
During his stint with the reigning English Premiership champions Sathianathan will shadow United’s assistant manager Carlos Queiroz, who coached J.League side Nagoya Grampus Eight and the UAE national team in the late 90s.
“This a great chance for me to learn from the best,” said Sathianathan, who took helm of the senior squad following co-hosts Malaysia’s disappointing performance under Norizan Bakar at the 2007 AFC Asian Cup.
“The national team will not be in training during that period and I can spend time learning and looking at ways to improve our team.”
