Bola Malaysia 08 : India, Qatar and China youth teams for CYC

KUALA LUMPUR: The national youth teams of India, Qatar, China and hosts Malaysia will vie for the honours in the second Champions Youth Cup to be held here from August 3 to 16 alongside their counterparts from top clubs around the world.

The under-19 teams of Manchester United, Chelsea (both England), AC Milan, Juventus (both Italy), Barcelona (Spain), Bayern Munich (Germany), Ajax Amsterdam, PSV Eindhoven (both the Netherlands), FC Porto (Portugal), Olympique Lyon (France), CR Flamengo Rio de Janerio (Brazil) and CA River Plate Buenos Aires (Argentina) complete the 16-team line-up for the event.

Manchester United won the title in the inaugural edition of the competition last year. The 14-day competition will be played in a league-cum-knock out format with a total of 32 matches spread over 12 match days.

The teams will be divided into four groups and the top two teams from each group will make it to the quarter-finals. All the matches will be of 70 minutes and there will be no extra-time throughout the tournament.
